Nicole Clinkscale
Licensed Mental Health Counselor, PLLC
I work with adults who seem to have it all together but feel disconnected or exhausted beneath the surface. You may be questioning your direction, your relationships, or even your sense of self. Together, we'll create a space where you don't have to perform or pretend-just be real and begin to heal. My therapy style is warm, nonjudgmental, and rooted in respect. I believe that change is possible, and it begins with truly being seen and heard.
I am a licensed mental health counselor with eight years of experience and a certified clinical trauma professional, focusing on childhood and generational trauma. I am a strong advocate for mental health awareness and emphasize the importance of self-care management.
Having personally struggled with anxiety since childhood, I have learned to become resilient and continue to grow through my challenges. My experience includes helping individuals facing interpersonal conflicts, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. I have also worked with military service members, veterans, and their families.
Using a compassionate and collaborative approach grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I help clients understand how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors interact—and how small shifts can lead to significant and lasting change. We'll explore patterns that keep you stuck and build practical tools for coping, connection, and clarity. If you’re ready to feel like yourself again, I would be honored to accompany you on that journey.
Schedule a 15-minute phone consultation to ask questions, express your needs, and determine if we are a good fit.
“You're not weak for admitting you have a struggle; there is strength in doing the work for yourself.”
Therapeutic Approaches
Dialectical Behavior Therapy
A structured therapy designed to help individuals manage difficult emotions and change problematic behaviors. It incorporates techniques in mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
A type of psychotherapy used to help individuals identify and change maladaptive thoughts and behaviors. It aids in recognizing problems, modifying negative thinking patterns, and developing more positive ones.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
Mindfulness and acceptance-based practices, along with behavior change, help individuals manage unwanted thoughts, feelings, and sensations. This approach fosters acceptance while encouraging changes that align with personal values. A key technique, cognitive defusion, helps people view their thoughts as temporary and distinct from their identity.
Psychodynamic Therapy
A type of psychotherapy explores an individual’s past, including childhood experiences and relationships, to uncover unconscious motivations and unresolved conflicts that may affect their mental health. The goal is to help clients understand how their history influences their present behavior and to improve their self-awareness.
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)
This type of therapy emphasizes the belief that change is achievable and empowers clients to overcome challenges by focusing on their strengths and skills. This approach fosters hope and optimism by highlighting what is working well and what the client aims to accomplish, rather than dwelling on past issues.
